Teaching Experience

Student Teacher, North Kingstown High School, Spring 2024

• Planned and implemented lessons for students at many levels of artistic experience ranging from foundational to advanced that aligned with the National Visual Arts Standards for creating, presenting, responding, and connecting.

• Adjusted scope and rigor of class projects in response to student ability, creating flexible assignments that met students at their own level while still presenting enough of a challenge to allow for individual growth and while holding students to a high standard.

• Introduced students to fundamental parts of the artistic process, including planning, sketching, developing process, and engaging in and making revisions in response to group peer critique.

• Delivered lessons in digital design that bridged the gap between art and technology with projects and activities that utilized multiple techniques and platforms to promote tech literacy alongside artistic development.

• Planned and implemented lessons for students in kindergarten through fourth grade that aligned with the National Visual Arts Standards for creating, presenting, responding, and connecting with a particular focus on social-emotional learning.

• Adjusted activities to meet the needs of students at a variety of skill levels as well as developing appropriate visual and verbal communication for delivering instruction in a bilingual setting.

Other Work Experience

General Manager, Dave’s Coffee Providence, 2016-2023

• Oversaw daily operations of a busy cafe, which consisted of staff management, inventory control, and customer service, as well as adherence to health and safety standards including maintaining daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules in accordance with RIDOH code.

• Hired, trained, and scheduled a team of employees, ensuring optimal staffing levels for efficient operations while fostering a positive and motivated work environment that promoted teamwork and growth among staff members.

Freelance Illustration and Photo Retouching 2014-2018

• Self-directed projects ranging from commissioned illustrations, to poster design, to working with freelance photographers to enhance their work and ensure that each photo aligned with their artistic vision.

• Managed multiple projects simultaneously and achieved timely task completion through communication with clients to address their feedback and make necessary revisions to meet their requirements while working with both my own schedule and theirs.
